Author:
Myers
The quality drink is the choice of every person. The Bordeaux area of France is known for the best quality wine all over the world. It has four different regions and every region produce a different and unique quality of wine that is famous all over the world.
Making a balanced drink is an art that skilled by a good concentrating mind. Most of the bartenders are not aware about the basic principals of making a good drink. It is not the all fault of the bartender but also the lack of training he received.
Knowledge of the recipe is the necessary thing to make a good drink but it is not the only factor that can ensure a quality drink. For making a quality drink a bartender should know the role of every ingredient in the recipe. The stress must be given to the quality of the service rather than the speed of the service. When you understand the basic principals of making the drink, you will be able to make a quality drink.
The point of discussion here is the use of a particular ingredient in the recipe. As the bartender doesn’t know the role of an ingredient and its effect on the person who is going to have the drink, he will use it without a proper measurement as it is mentioned in the recipe. The stress must be given on making a balanced drink rather than using the entire ingredient ruthlessly.
The cocktail and martini are two popular drinks. These drinks are easy to make and popular among the users. There are some basic principals to be followed while making these drinks.
Making a cocktail:
In the cocktail, the ingredients can be divided in to four basic categories. These four categories of the ingredients are strong, weak, tart, and sweet. If all these four elements are equally balanced than the drink will taste nothing. So, one element always overpowers the other ingredients thus making the drink tart, sweet or weak. The ingredients are to be used accordingly to the choice of the customers. The sugar must be dissolved properly to make a good cocktail. The bartender must be trained to understand the choice of a customer and mix the ingredients accordingly.
Making a martini
It is important for the bartender to know the choice of customer that which type of martini drink the customer likes to have. The popular drink is to be made with a smooth grinding of gin and ice. To make a good drink the spoon is to be moved in the glass slowly so that the gin can flow slowly and can be diluted gently and release the aroma and flavor of the gin. It takes some time for the ice to get diluted properly and to get the chill. Finally the martini is garnished according to the choice of the customer.
In other words bartending is an art which can be mastered only by providing full attention to the quality. It is not all about serving liquor but it is a way to satisfy a customer.
