HOW I LOST MY CAR...

Have you ever parked your car and been unable to remember where you parked or what car you drove to the mall or grocery store? My million dollar dream is to have chauffer drive me everywhere I want to go.

Being in my present reality, this happened to me recently. Boy, did I feel like a real a fool!!

I was attending a meeting to learn how to earn a million dollars through real estate investing in a local city with very difficult parking. Parking is limited to two hours or three hours on most streets and I was not sure how long the seminar was going to last. There are a few streets with unlimited parking. After driving around for 15 minutes looking for an unlimited spot, I found a great one. I checked out the signs and did not like what they said, so I moved the car. At this point I had used up most of my time buffer and would be late for the meeting. I found another spot. It was an easy parallel park. I was proud of my parking job. I locked my car and started walking. I was about seven blocks from my meeting location. It was a beautiful cool fall walk. It was great exercise.

I arrived at my meeting to learn more about how to improve my home based business opportunity with a few minutes to spare. I had enough time for a coke and the meeting started. The meeting was about how to make real money using Robert Kiyosaki’s principles. I won a disk because I answered one of the speaker’s questions. I was learning how to be more successful in my home based business.

When the meeting was over I headed back to my car, except I was unable to find my car. I failed to write down or remember the name of the street. As a former yellow page rep I had worked this area for many years, so I was very familiar with the locale. I walked and walked looking for my car, but it was getting cold and dark. I decided I had to break down and call my husband to ask for a ride home. He was not too happy because he was 45 minutes away and was in the middle of a project.

I guess this a good lesson to learn always write down your parking location. I remember this happened to me many years ago. I went to the New York World’s Fair with my aunt. We parked the car and went into the Fair. When we left the Fair that evening we spent some time trying to remember which lot we had parked. We had to call security and drive around with them until we found the car. It took hours.

Another time, my mom went shopping at one of the local malls. She went out of a different entrance and was unable to find her car. She called her sister, the same aunt who got lost in New York. Losing your car must run in my family.

I really can’t believe the car is really lost. I feel like I am lost. I am waiting in the lobby in the hotel were the meeting was held. It must have been towed because I exceeded my allotted stay.

My husband just arrived to search for the car. It took us only about five minutes to find the car. In my hurry to get to the meeting, the only parking spot I remembered was the first space I had tried, and forgotten I had moved the car to a new parking spot. I remembered I had parked on the right side near the end of the street.

My thought for the day, always write down the name of the street or location you park your car!!
